Freaking Facebook. I got a call from a relative tonight to say, have you seen SD's Facebook? well no I don't indulge, don't even know how to work it, so they read it to me. The bile, the condemnation of her dad on the internet with her name so all her 'friends' can see was just so mean and absolutely sickening.
I was going to call her myself but DH did and asked her to take it down. It was from a while back but in it she describes having sex (she is 16), how DH beat her mom all the time and that she hates him. This from the same one last week who said, oh yes sign me up for the expensive camp before we go to the beach for a week, I can't wait to come! Who calls her dad all the time, and whose dad had to call SD's work to stop her mom from allowing a 21 year old man to 'date' her, who works with SD? Anyway she says this is her 'art' and refuses to take it down, and her mom drunkenly supports her, big shocker there.
I am such a bitch. I want to start my own facebook and write stuff about them on there as 'art' too. I am not paying for her to visit her this summer, spend my last dime on her airfare or camp she does not deserve if that is how she feels about us.
She says, I didn't say anything about Most Evil, and I said you are talking about my husband that is the same as saying it about me! This is the same crap we fought about last fall where we didn't speak for months after it, she is still doing it, but she is not openly doing she is sneakily doing it, using us and talking shit too! And it is my family who is saying, what is wrong with this kid? they thought she was suicidal, sexually active and physically abused by her dad from reading her 'art'! I told DH I really don't want her around after all that, you know! I am so pissed I don't know what to do??!!!
It is terrible how a kid that is not even yours can hurt you so bad. She says her dad deserves it for beating her mom, that if he would just admit it everything would be ok. He will not admit something he did not do-!! She is becoming a psycho like her mom!! Help!!

bring it to the BM's attn and link her to a site about HAS and PAS - thats defamation of character with no proof nd slander - keep it up and you can prosecute.

Its called Slander.. I would let her know that LEGALLY he could do something to her if she doesnt take down the slanderous comments. That freedom of speech does NOT allow for slander.
Technically, your dh could take her to small claims court for slander, prove that her comments are slanderous (given no police record of abuse, etc.) and they could REQUIRE her to take it down.
Check it out!!! I would so NOT pay for that kid to do ANYTHING.. CS and that is.
I'd ask her to prove it.
Ask her to see the police reports, the medical records, ANYTHING that would prove DH did what she claims. And when she can't produce the proof, tell her there are defamation and libel laws in this country and she's setting her dear mother up for one helluva lawsuit. Then tell her, gee, since you hate us so much, we won't burden you with a visit here and all the goodies that entails. Enjoy your summer with your mother.

I had the same thought
as SaneOne. SD is defaming her own father. That sounds like grounds for a lawsuit against BM.
Before Dh and I were married, I had to call DH's ex once for something along these same lines. She was defaming my character badly in front of her beauty shop customers - a lot of them whom I know and work with. It got so bad I didn't want to go to work. I finally called her and told her she had better lay off or I would prosecute her. I guess she thought about it and decided it would ruin her "good" (haha) reputation. She asked DH to ask me to not sue her. I haven't had any problems since.

There is no proof, we have covered all this 1000 times - no arrest, no police report, no injuries, no doctors bills, just her supposedly vivid memory of what happened 12 years ago when she was 4, and her mom's compulsive lying.
I stuck SD pretty good in our conversation and took away the only vacation she ever gets over the summer, plus the summer camp she was excited about. I am not sure it would qualify as defamation because it was in the form of poems about 'daddy's little girl', 'dont cry mommy', etc., that she considers 'creative writing'.
She has actually read something similar to me while she was here about using someone and other topics that were very trite and misspelled, but to her it is her right to express. Well it is my right to keep your *ss out of my house this summer and my money in my pocket. Thank God DH is on board, he is crushed.
If it comes down to it I will mention legal action but we probably just won't speak until we 'apologize' or hell freezes over. Meanwhile I am writing my own 'art' on facebook
