We Aren't in Kansas Anymore

As if to remind me that we are gone from home etc, a herd of camels came through our camp this morning. They moseyed along like it was totally normal.
I took pictures for the boys but there was also a sandstorm so they probably won't see anything. I sent them a map last week. It already arrived. Go figure. Packages get there so fast. MIL said they love the maps. Boys are funny.
My sister is about to have twin girls. I am jealous of her. I would love to do that - go through that whole process and then be able to say Stepmom and Biomom on Steptalk Laughing out loud I would love to raise children full time, not this 5pm to 9pm and only on weekends thing that we normally do. I would love to be there for them during the soccer season. I feel like I am missing out on their lives.
This place is making me stir crazy. I really want to see the skids and DH.
I even miss the dogs.

We "Miss" you too!

Though not in the literal sense of course. I know from DH how tough it is where you are. I told you about the shower story didn't I?

DH was showering in Kuwait, I think it was. And a soldier said, "WHY WHY is it that I have the hot water off and the cold water turned all the way up...and it's still HOT water?????"

Another soldier replied, "Because you're in HELL."

Just thought I'd give you a laugh.

When are you back from this?

You know, if PM'd me I'd send you a lovely care package if you let me know some things you're missing! I sent one to my Dr when he was in Cosovo a few years ago. He shared it with all his buddies.

Peace, love, and red wine

You'll Get Through it, Cactus, Just keep Remembering Positives.

You'll Get Through it, Cactus, Just keep Remembering Positives, Count Up To the Halfway point of Leave, then Count Down The Other half, Don't even Think about The time left in Your Deployment, just keep Short Term Things in Mind, it's easier to deal with things a day or Week at A time, than by Months or a Year...

Like The one guy told Chris early in the movie Platoon, Count The Days You Have In, rather than The Days You Have Left, when they were talking about how long They had Left, and Chris said He had 300+ and they told him They couldn't even remember being there that short a time...

I guess I need to shutup

and be thankful instead of whining about my kids and all their sports.... (please ignore my post regarding the same)

"I would love to be there for them during the soccer season. I feel like I am missing out on their lives."

I wish you could be there too...
