I have a 9 year old step daughter who is giving myself and my husband alot of issues, mainly me. These two past weeks have been terrible. Found out she had forged my name on a paper sent home because she didn't do her homework assignments and also on a spelling test she got an A on. I am so furious right now. And she is consistently lying wither it is a good or bad thing. I am at wits end with her and I need some advise. I do have a 3 year old daughter and a 10 month old son that are my own with my husband. Can anybody help me?
Call her out on everything
Call her out on everything and follow with the punishments set out. If that means no computer, cell phone, hair straightener, make up, whatever it is make sure you follow through.
Also have a meeting with the teacher to catch your SD in her lies. If that means email communication with the teacher daily then so be it. She can not be trusted. It will only get worse if the law isnt laid down early in life. you havent even hit teen years yet. Good luck.

Thank you. She comes from a very ugly back round ie Mother, a drug addict and welfare junky. I know she has a huge impact on her with things but get this she hasn't seen her mother in almost a year because her mother tried to pull legal issues with my husband,And I know she wants to either see her or live with her but she just says no she don't I feel at times either she don't want me around because her father is with me not her mother or she just lives with us because she can get stuff where at her mothers she won't. I feel like I am being used. We have tried taking things away and grounding and it doesn't help, its like she enjoys it! Makes me sick because I would have never done any of this with my parents and my 2 own little kids no better, I guess cause they see what happens when you misbehave. Thank you again

tiffanytkc I have a SD13. Doing the same thing. Has been doing it since I met her 7 years ago. I Call her out on everything when I catch it. I do not punish but I do embarrass and I do converse. I do tell her what it does to me and others when she lies, cheats, etc.... I have also contacted teachers daily to make sure the teachers knew what was going on and the behavior in unacceptable. BM Thinks SD13 is a precious angel and does not think she ever lies... So I end up being the target most of the time. But If you do not put the ground rules in place harshly now... You will end up with dealing with much much worse down the road! YOU NEED TO get a handle on it NOW
