A year or two ago, my then 7yr old ss was stealing from school, classmates, stores etc. After lots of things that didn't work, we had a cop come talk to him. That worked for a long time. He's 9 now. And back up to it.... but here's the kicker, now he's stealing from me. Goes through my drawers and cabinets and takes what he wants... and 'hides' it in his room. Maybe he even takes some home, who knows. Well, I have now officially had enough of it. Hubby says lets just move everything up high so he can't get it. well, for several reasons, including the fact that I'm 5 feet tall doesn't work for me. The 12 year old and I don't get a long and the 9 year old is causing me more stress than I can handle. Every single weekkend is a fight. I am 30 and feel 40. I resent them for everything , but its compounded when they disrespect me and steal on top of it. Anyone got any magic solution? Advice? Similar situations?

SS did the same last year
After a visit from BM and on Easter Sunday she attempted to steal a necklace from the Navy Exchange of all places. My husband is in the Army and was totally devastated. I was embarrassed but more angry than anything. I used to take her shopping with me but I don't anymore. I told her she needs to earn my trust back. She is trying. DH caught SS trying to steal candy from a store. I had the same thing with my now grown BS. I don't understand it. I didn't teach any of them this but I think they all try it. DH needs to take away things from your SS and teach him a lesson.
