It's become consistently harder and harder to explain the rationale behind me, bf, bm, kids to other folks on the board because it's so complex due to her mental instability. I'm hoping to find the support I need for at least that part of it on this board because when you're dealing with someone who doesn't think rationally, hears what you DON'T say, sees what they WANT to see and is completely unpredictable, THINGS CHANGE! Ugh! It's not a matter of willpower or putting your feet down with them -- that doesn't work, it just results in the incredible feeling that they will wisk the kids away in the dead of night never to return. As my hubby to be says, "Stroke the bear"...does that sound familiar? Seemingly innocuous comments can be latched onto and they breed suspicion, fear, anxiety and paranoia in the birth mom.
