Synopsis:

Is it possible to come out of divorce as a smarter, stronger, and more successful person? Is it possible to not only survive a divorce, but go on to have better, deeper relationships, including a new marriage?

The authors tackle these questions using real-life experience, not theory. This is not a "what the experts say" book --- this is a "how it works in your real life" book --- it is absolutely full of real life.

Learn from the experiences of others --- good and bad, success and failure, struggle and success.

Table of contents:

Easy to read, easy to understand, chock-full of real-life stories and illustrations about how to move forward after divorce, going on to become a stronger, more positive, more successful, more well-adjusted person.

Topics include parenting, dating, relationships, remarriage, finances, and many more. The "best practices" of divorced adults who are succeeding in their personal, family, and business lives.

Review:

I bought this book on Amazon because I like these authors. They are family counselors who really seem to understand divorce --- I loved another of their books "Happily Remarried." (see review on this site)

This new book "Moving Forward" is the best book I've read yet about divorce recovery and divorce care, especially about dealing with your ex-partner and all the grief that goes with it.

This book is from a "Christian" publisher (be advised) but the bulk of the advice here is simply about how to survive divorce and move forward, becoming a stronger, wiser, more confident person. The book doesn't "preach" but it does tell great true-life stories.

So many divorce books are just one writer processing his or her own journey;
that's valid I'm sure but I don't always stay awake to read the whole thing. "Moving Forward After Divorce" keeps me turning the pages. The stories are very well-written and to-the-point. Instead of one person, this book tells stories of many people (mostly women, but some men also) and how they are coping with divorce and going on to remarriage, blending a new family, etc.

I give this book my highest rating: 10 out of 10! --- Lori
