Speaking of Pictures...

I feel like a sh*t for writing this, but I have to confess of being a little "faker" last week.

I briefly mentioned that I am doing some work in the basement. Part of this deals with DW and I going through a boxes of memorobilia.

Currently our basement has 5 pictures of SS hanging on the walls. There's none of BS and BD. I don't really care but there is one 12 x 12 photo of baby-SS that I can't stand and purposely avert my eyes from it whenever I approach it. If if was a smaller picture, it would be fine but this "zoomed in" picture of baby SS looks like a head-shot of Jabba the Hut with his eyes closed.

DW got the idea to run a new line of wall photos along the ceiling overhang (yes, the same overhang that tall-boy bumped his head into the other day) with these old pictures we dug up out of storage.

At first I was hesitant, because I knew DW would take this opportunity to hang even MORE photos of SS. But a quick cursory glance of the photos proved to me that there wasn't any. DW had, before she moved in, taken out a lot of photos of SS to make a scrap book project so I felt pretty safe in the assumption that no new photos of SS would be going up.

The first picture to go up was a picture of DW as a kid holding a puppy. Her first dog. The next picture was of me and my brother at Christmas time that was taken about 15 years ago. The next picture was of DW and her best friend (the one that introduced us) at some high school event.

So far so good.

We're hanging up picture of our "past" selves; before we met each other. I'm really digging this. It's kind of like a "picture timeline".

Then suddenly DW gets all gushy and says. "Ooh look! Can we put this one up next?"

Frak me! It's a picture of SS in a stroller, sucking on a pacifier. He looks too old to have a pacifier. He also doesn't look very happy.

"Urm...I uh....Well he isn't smilling there." I explain. "In fact he looks angry. Kind of goes against the theme we have going here..."

"Ooh! I have just the photo then!" DW says.

And she runs to get her scrap book and pulls a bunch of photos out!

In my head I am thinking 'No! No! No! NO! NOOOOOOOO! This ain't happening!!!'

"Ooh! Ah!" I start to exclaim while massaging my wrist. "My hand is cramping up! Sorry DW, I think I am done hanging up these photos. We'll continue another time okay?"

I couldn't believe myself. I faked an injury to get out of hanging up more pictures of SS!

So our picture timeline project remains incomplete.

Chef couldn't care less whether I was faking or not faking. As long as he "completes the task."

Keep it simple Drac0 throw the word FAIR around ... A LOT

there must be EQUAL numbers of pictures of ALL family members, no one gets more photos that anyone else.

That is so awesome, I will dress in whatever you want for this house warming party of yours!

I feel your pain Draco. As you know...I have to fight the wall of Gaylord all the time. Well...I used to. It has not popped up for a while thank fully.

I had to LOL at your injury. I kind of do the same thing when DH is trying to make SS the center of the universe.

I find that if I redirect DH during one of his "SS love fests", he will ultimately forget what he was wanting to do.

Hope it works with DW.

Drac0, you should just finish the project on your own as a "surprise gift" for DW!

That way you can put up the pictures you want to and it looks like you're doing something sweet for her }:)

DH has these really awful group pics of the skids. Professional photos, from when they were little. Sadly they were in a box in our shed that DH needed to go through and before he was able to, a pregnant squirrel took cover and made it her home. Gave birth to the babies and they made nests and tore up all the boxes/stored camping blankets, yard sale clothes, etc.

So the squirrels did my dirty work.

I dont have to see the skids in their professional pics looking like welfare children Smile

Oh gawd, the Behemoth BM used to send photos CONSTANTLY with every sport they were enrolled in (too numerous to mention; all a part of her PASout schema)

Endless "professional" shots of chubby, pale, red headed, howdy-doody like expressions with a fake smile; one foot up on the basketball/soccer ball which was straining under the weight.

One photo in particular is quite gruesome. It has OSS in a wrestling uniform which actually accentuates his camel toe. It's orange (school colours) which plays off his bright, fire engine red hair and extremely pale skin. He's posing in a "grappling" position--which would be intimidating to no one except for maybe a extremely nervous bunny rabbit. Reminds me of the day he turned purple with rage against Chef (must run in the family) in a huge gymnasium during intermurals and screamed "I HATE YOU!" so that everyone heard it. I'm sure the Behemoth BM was in her glory as her PAS campaign was going to plan.

He's now a six foot, 250 lb "cutie" sporting hippy headbands. Works about six hours a week making smoothies on a food truck and admits freely that he "doesn't know how to cook"

Yes if they have a two inch layer of blubber surrounding their ball sack. Honestly the outfit was THAT TIGHT! All of Chef's kid are super tall and super huge.

Drac0 to DW: "Wow I didn't realize there were so many photos. . .it's really not fair to stuff them all into that old album. Let's shop for a NEW album that we can put them all in with captions."

You may want to fake a migraine when it comes time to do the captions.

I'm not one for having photos on the walls. I like a clean look and prefer that photos be placed in an album.

Oh gawd, we used to have a photo of SS next to the TV as well. His hair looks greasy and he has one of his "horse grins" (more gum than teeth). Over the years it mysteriously got moved }:)

Draco, don't feel bad. I took down ALL the photos in our living room once because I was SO sick of seeing a picture of skids on the wall...and then I "lost" the entire pile of photos when we moved. OOPS! Yes, I had to toss a very nice photo of us in the stack but I'm sure I'll be able to "find another copy" of that one at some point. }:)

"DW, this photo of SS when he was a baby is curdling the cream in my coffee--can't we DO something about it?'
