I'm not going to go into all the drama of the last week, because honestly, my life is JUST DRAMA lately. However things are getting hairy for me and the girls, lately. My family is trying to get us into an apartment, quick fast and in a hurry.

However, that means that we will have to give up our pets (could possibly keep their cats). The girls obviously love their dogs, and will be heartbroken over this. I am heartbroken, but it is just one more thing to cry over, lately. (I think I have cried a small pond in the last week. Sad )

Please pray for us, wish us luck, say a prayer or whatever. The good news is, we are at rock bottom so things can ONLY get better!

exhaustedSM is right! Rescues are full of wonderful people with huge hearts that will help you with your furbabies.

I too am a supporter of rescue, I can't adopt yet but I foster sit, financially support my favorite rescue. So many dogs!

thank you sueu2! I'm lucky that my family (once I told them some of the drama) is standing behind us, in this! I know we will eventually be okay, but things like having to rehome their dogs bring me to tears so quickly!

There are a group of folks where I live that will foster your animals until you can have them again. Maybe you can look into that or solicit on craig's list for someone to foster them?

I've done that on a group on Facebook, but I don't think that we will ever be in a place to have these dogs back again. We are trying to get a new apartment that doesn't allow dogs. Sad But, like my mom said, I have to choose between the dogs and the kids right now. Not a hard choice!

Please find them new homes. Please. Please. Ask your veterinarian if he will post a flyer for you and ask him to get the word out if he has any clients who might be interested. Contact other vets in your area, too. If you do a random ad yourself, I'm begging you to carefully vet the home they go into. As for children, the world is full of predators with evil intent for dogs. Think Michael Vick.

And, yes, try rescue. Most rescues I know want you to make some effort to re-home them yourself first. But I suppose they all have different policies.

Sorry you are going through all this. You will feel better if you know the dogs are going to be safe and happy.

Chief, I feel like I am trying hard, but I'm probably not doing enough. the girls are being a lot stronger than I am managing right now! Sad But, at least I do most of my crying in the bathroom.

It hurts so bad to watch SD13 cry. Sd15 is all about the new adventure, I think, or else she is swallowing her emotions. Sad

Contact a rescue, don't re-home them through Craigslist--too many psychos.

There are lots of rescues out there, even some breed specific one (and they don't only take purebreds).

Is there any family or friend who can take them? Even if you split them up?

I don't think so, but I am calling the battered woman's place to see if they have any rescues they work with.. Can't hurt, right?
