Seems DH should be the one finding a second job!

So now SheSloth needs another pair of jazz shoes for guard. Girl goes through at least 3 pair a year. Here recently, SheSloth has also needed the black shirt for guard pictures, she needed money for her guard shirt, I'm sure soon she will need money for her guard hair bows, etc. She already wants a second rifle for performance because hers isn't in pristine condition any longer (due to the billion times she drops it). It goes on and on. I point out to DH that he needs to start figuring out how to budget this crap, instead of me always being told at the last minute that he needs to buy x and y...do my budget a pay period in advance. He tries to tell me, "It is no different than BS19 in football!" Oh yes it is!! Let me tell you BS19's expenses every year for football...1 pair of $40 cleats! That's it! Nothing else! No money for shirts, or this and that. Oh, and I always knew he needed cleats from the beginning of summer...was basically always given 2 months to get them, and the coach usually worked out a special deal with some local store because he wanted everyone in the same shoe (hence the great deal).

Like I always say, it would be different if SheSloth actually appreciated anything. But the shoes? Yeah...she needs them for the first game tomorrow night and just told DH today in a text message that she needed new ones for the game (she has a pair already, but again, they are not brand new). What's he gonna do? Run out and get them! Oh well...his birthday, and if he wants to spend it getting SheSloth her last minute crap...I don't even know why she needs a new pair. She says she always practices barefoot, and she got a new pair 2 months before the end of last school year! That pair should be like new!

I'm just waiting for, "Oh, and while we are here, I need leggings, and, and, and..." Oh hell no! Told DH what our budget is until next pay period, and reminded him yet again that SheSloth needs to really start evaluating what are NEEDS!

Just tell DH you guys can't afford it. They are just taking out too many taxes at your trainer job, and it's worse than you thought. I know, it's a damn shame (bat your eyelashes here....), but MAYBE next month I can make it work, yeah....if I get a new client or something........

LOL

LOL...not getting paid yet. Just picked up my first client, and won't see her until next week (she is a once-a-week).

You know, if she appreciated anything or did anything to help around the house, it would be completely different. But she doesn't! SheSloth walks around here like she is royalty and we are supposed to bow to her! She never takes care of anything, because, well, she will just tell daddy and he will replace it. Like her shoes. Truth be told, she probably can't find one of them! Gotten that excuse more than once already for "needing" new jazz shoes. And she hardly dances! I mean, if she were practicing all the darn time to the point she had blisters on her feet (like any real dancer), I could see her going through the shoes as often as she does. Problem is, she doesn't take care of them! I can promise you tomorrow night, she will be wearing them as regular shoes, instead of putting them on right before going on the field, and taking them off right after. She doesn't need them on any other time tomorrow night, but she will be running around in gravel and on pavement in these shoes that were never meant for that, instead of taking a pair of tennis shoes to wear during the down time, or even a pair of flip flops! You don't see ballet dancers wearing their point shoes on the street! Yeah, it would be uncomfortable, but they also understand that they are not meant to be worn for anything other than dance! Like my gym shoes...only at the gym...I have street shoes and gym shoes, as my gym shoes need to be of higher quality to handle the impact of my workouts, and I want them to last a long time.

Any chance she can get a small job doing something? Anything? Tell her she has to sell stuff on eBay in order to get new shoes lol.

It doesn't. But useless BM doesn't pay for jack anyway. She dumped SheSloth on us when she could no longer handle the monster she had a huge hand in creating! Bad attitude? Just like BM! Treating everyone like they are beneath her? Just like BM! Skipping school, smoking pot, etc? Well, when you have run the house your whole life...

Daddy needs to realize that girls always cost more than guys. Tell him just tough luck she turned out female. Wait for prom.

Except for food I'll bet one can raise two guys for the cost of one girl.

SheSloth is making sure to make DH's birthday miserable!!! We met MIL for dinner, as she wanted to buy (DH's birthday, my birthday is a week from today, and celebrate getting the trainer job...go out for all). We picked a place to eat close to the store we needed to go to for shoes. Entire dinner, SheSloth was acting like a total b***h...for lack of a better word! Continued while we were at the store to buy HER shoes, while we got ice cream, and all the way home!!! We get home...straight to the bathroom!!! 20 minutes later, after DH yelled across the house for her several times...he calls her phone. She doesn't answer the first time...second time she does answer, and it is very obvious she's in there purging by the sound of her voice! DH calls her on it, and she tries to say her stomach hurt. I tell DH that is bull...and he even commented to her that she ALWAYS disappears to the bathroom, and is always in there longer than anyone he knows!

Oh, and she forgot her rifle yesterday in her friend's car who picked her up after school...and does not go to her school!!! The friend will not be home until after 9 pm, which means DH gets to go back out to go to the friend's house because the friend doesn't want to drive out to our house. "I thought I left it at school, but it wasn't there. I then remembered I was with _____ yesterday." Seriously, I will say it again, I don't know how she is even still allowed to be in guard! After going through all the crap last year, which is all SheSloth not paying attention, not communicating, and everything being last minute because of this, I would have said, "I'm done! You're out!"

I understand the difficulty of trying to teach a kid to value money when that kid never wants for anything. We struggled with this same issue with SS when he was in HS and shortly after graduation.

Food just showed up magically on his plate, clothes in his drawers, cell phones, game systems, computers, band instruments, etc.... Don't get me wrong. He appreciated it all but he did not understand or value it beyond enjoying that he had it.

So, when he graduated from HS then turned 18 3mos later reality slapped him in the face. No longer was life so cushy. If he did not have a job or was not in college we dragged him out of bed and left him on the front door step when we went to work. No instructions, no food, no water (except the garden hose), nothing but "We will see you when we get home from work. Have a good day." We turned him into our beck and call boy/chore bitch. If he did the ever increasing, menial, and unpleasant chore list then he got to stay in the house the next day while we went to work. If not ..... he was deposited on the door step in whatever he was wearing when he fell asleep. A few instances of having to hang out in the yard in his boxer shorts and a T-shirt all day got the point across.

After 4mos of chore bitch status he enlisted in the USAF. 3 years later he has miraculously gained an appreciation of what it takes to earn money and nice things. As a young Airman money is tight and his understanding of it has increased exponentially over the past 3+ years. Recently he was notified that he would have to vacate the dorm on base (He has been living in it for nearly 3 years.) He moved into an apartment with two room mates and has spent a couple of months sleeping on a futon mattress on the floor. For his 22nd B-day last week we gave him gift certificates for a bedroom set and living room furniture. This is his first apartment and we wanted to recognize the milestone. We can afford to be generous and since he has been earning his own way he defiantely recognizes and appreciates what is involved in that gift.

Until the Sloth is given clarity that one pair of jaz shoes is it from daddy and she gets a job for pair 2-3 she will not gain any clarity.

Good luck.
