OT-- I've kept myself way too sheltered from social media.

Warning-- this is just a rant and may come across as catty/bitchy/smug.

Ok, so my story actually is sort of on topic and stems from a post in here yesterday about Instagram. I knew that nothing good would come from this but I googled BM to see if she had one. I know, I know, and I'm a little ashamed, lol. She didn't have one but she did have a Pintrest account and of course I looked at it. It was full of all of the types of things I expected to see-- typical wanna-be middle class, fundamentalist Christian white woman, southern pop culture, arts and crafts MOTY stuff. The thing that caught my eye was the folder of inspirational quotes, motivationals and such.

The big glaring theme was all about grief and loss, getting your heart broken, break ups, learning to let go of your past, etc. That pissed me off because she has never gotten over DH and it's painfully obvious in 90% of her communications with him. That's the whole reason for the worst of her bad behaviors. She is still hurting over him and tries to make him pay for leaving her (even though her own motivational posts tell her to NOT do that).

The only thing that kept me from being angry for very long was seeing the "sources" of so many of these quotes. LMAO. Oh so much misquoted, out of context, idiotic drivel. All of the usual suspects were there, like the Gandhi quotes (hey BM, I thought, you know because you said it to DH and I, that you could never have anything to do with anyone who isn't a Christian. Do you even know who Gandhi was?!?) but there were also some completely unexpected ones for someone like her...like Charles Bukowski. WTactualF. I'm not fond of the man but come on, BM! He is the epitome of everything you find dirty and sinful. But there they were, "quotes" from him (I didn't look them up to see if they really were his or not) on pastel backgrounds decorated with hearts and flowers.

Ok. End rant. Seriously, I do know what the internet is and I do have a Facebook account so you would think that I would be used to this type of stuff but I'm not. I purged my friends list years ago and now I only get stuff I like in my newsfeed. Completely blissfully sheltered and ignorant of this stuff.

The religion thing really is out of control. Especially since poor DH had to watch his children suffer in it. I'm not trying to be disrespectful of anyone's beliefs. I spent the first 3 decades of my life under the "live and let live" mantra. Then I moved to the south. I'm not going to get TOO specific about the area but we always end up on those "worst of" city and state rankings. So many ugly nasty people around here who probably don't even read their bibles, they just use them as weapons to beat other people up.

Oh, you don't Farcebook either?

I learned my lesson about Farcebook after the second time that BM3s EX took her to court and won based on information that he starting snooping for ONLY after she posted something relevant on Farcebook.

Speaking of which, he just sent her a nasty email a few days ago which of course prompted her to call my DH and whine about it. Evidently, her XH emailed her and asked her what their son's relationship is to her felon boyfriend. He has a rotten court record, and recently linked himself to her via FB as "in a relationship with".

I wouldn't know. I stay off social media. I don't have time for it and from what I can tell, it causes a ton of drama. I don't want people having that much information about where I am and what I'm up to.
