I just want to share with all of you a service that I use...It is called prepaid legal. It is a legal/lawyer service that you pay to use on a monthly basis. It just seems like a lot of nice people could really use it for their situations. How it works is: I pay $26.95 a month combined for myself and my husband to have legal services/lawyers at my finger tips whenever I have a questions or need some legal advice/legal documents drawn up. The longer you are a memeber, the more free court time/face time to get with a lawyer. For the first year you get 5 free lawyer documents drawn up, I think 10 hours of court time with a lawyer by your side, and a lawyer service number that you can call anytime that will give you the answers to your legal questions. The $26.95 that we pay a month also includes identity theft protection, where they monitor your credit reports monthly and help you fight to get your identity back if you end up being a victim. It had been of great use to us, it is a way to have a lawyer when you may find that you need one but dont have the money to pay for one. Every additional year that you are a member you get more free documents and more face/court time with a lawyer by your side. Just thought that I would let you all know, just in case you are interested.

My DH and I have had some issues with BM and they have helped us out, BM always starting crap is the main reason we wanted to get the PrePaid legal service. I am pretty sure they have a website if you want to check it out for yourselves.

If you cannot find the info maybe you should give them a call and ask. That is probably the easiest thing to do.

I actually just got off the phone with them! This is what they told me. (If anyone else is interested, you may want to call for your state.. but this is what they told me on the phone today)... For the monthly fee, you can get:
1. Unlimited phone time consultation on a legal issue one time over the membership year. If you call again on the same issue, they may charge you a "preferred member rate" for a phone call. But you can call with 10 different issues for free... it's just that you can only not be charged per issue one time.
2. They do cover motor vehicle issues, IRS issues, family court issues, etc.
3. They have a huge database of forms that you can download. So you could use a form and then call them for a free consultation on how to use it. Again, you can only call on that 1x, but if you called again, there might be a charge.
4. They do not cover military law or international law.
5. There is no "waiting period" for pre-existing issues, except for motor vehicles. There is a 15 day waiting period for motor vehicle issues.
6. Anyone can join. I was told there's no registration and then waiting for approval.
That's all that I was told. They are going to send me a membership packet so I can look in more detail. But it sounds like DH and I will be joining. We figure if we do this now, then in 2 years, we will probably have to go to court to get the $$ from BM. So we might as well join now!!

It was a LIFESAVER
DH paid for his bankruptcy from the financial ruin that BM left him in out of pocket. Cost LOTS of money. Well we then looked into the prepaid and it was the best investment that we made. We went through a custody battle (and WON) with our prepaid services. In fact, our attorney was 1000 times better than BMs AND he was not even a Family Law Lawyer. Our lawyer worked hard and fought relentlessly against the BS as BM and her lawyer were putting in new claims and modifications and whatever else nonsense they could think of at a moment's whim. Was absolutely CRAZY to read some of the crap. We think that her lawyer came in a Cracker Jack box. LOL! BUT our guy was no nonsense and on the ball every time. Saved us THOUSANDS of dollars. I too would highly recommend it to anyone whose company offers it.
Anyone can take the easy way out and blame others. BUT it takes a a person of character to take a look at one's self and actions and own responsibility for their part. ~ ME ~ }:-P
