Still Dealing With Lying

My stepson was on a roll this week. He was caught lying more than once and also not telling when he was in trouble. We had to find out from the teacher calling and emailing and the assistant principal calling our home.

First of all, he lied to me twice to try and get out of trouble. I asked him on two different days, where his spelling word list was and he told me both times that he the teacher didn't give them out. Well the teacher confirmed that she did give them out Mon. just like every week. So, my stepson addmited that he forgot to bring it home and then lied about it so he wouldn't get in trouble.

Then, he got a second bus referral on Tue. and didn't tell us about it. The assit. principal called here on Wed. afternoon to inform us and we waited until Wed. evening and Stepson still hadn't told us about being called into the assit. principal's office.

Finally, there was an incident at school on Wed. and three kids said that they heard my stepson say the "F" word. My stepson denied that he said it. The teacher told him that she was going to call or e-mail us to let us know what was going on and stepson was in tears at this point. So the entire day goes by and stepson didn't mention what happened in school. Not even to defend himself before we found out from the teacher. So Wed. evening we were out and when we got home the teacher's home phone number was on our caller ID. We asked stepson if there was any reason that he could think of as to why the teacher was calling us. Or course he said that he couldn't think of anything. We got an e-mail from the teacher the following day telling us of the incident at school. My stepson tried to say that he didn't remember the incident!!!! There is no way he couldn't remember it!!! I don't know why he keeps lying!! What can we do to get him to stop and realize that he would get in less trouble if he would just tell the truth!! I am to the point where I can't really believe much that he says!!

Stepson isn't taking his lying seriously

I was upset this morning because I picked up a skate boarding catalog that my stepson had been circling things in that he wanted. One of the t-shirts that he had circled said " Trust Me, I'm a Liar"! Oh, I was so mad that he actually thought we were going to buy that for him after all the talking we have had with him about lying! I guess he thought it was funny. I didn't think it was funny at all!
