CS increase and court - outcome

MidwestStepmom's picture

In my last blog I mentioned that a review had happened and my DH was ordered to pay for one year a heavy increase in top of the normal increase. This was due to a 401k loan dispersement that we took out for a down payment on our house. DH had changed jobs and he either had to pay the loan back or be taxed on it as income.

Court just got over with and the judge found in favor of my DH. He was able to prove he did not start continuing to his 401k until after starting to pay CS and that Ss had already benefited from that calculated income. Therefore it would be double dipping.

CS nightmare - edit with more info

I have not posted in about 6 months but I am extremely upset right now. CS was reviewed, it's gets reviewed every three years by the state because BM receives government assistance. We got the lovely notice that it has increased from $795 to $1125 for one year then to $875 after that.

Both DH and I are confused on the one year increase. The papers say it's due to a 401k payout that we had this past year. DH lost his job and he had a loan against his 401k, if you can't pay it back in full, it's considered taxable income. So we got hit hard for taxes and owed over $12K

Just... Ugh...

So this weekend we went shopping for ss13-will be 14 in a week birthday gift. We decided to convert his room into more of a teenager room and replace the "boy" stuff in it. We bought new bedding, curtains, wall art, a new flat screen TV and a blu ray player.

While making his bed I lifted up the mattress and found a candy bar wrapper under the bed and found open candy sitting out on his night stand. This past weekend he was forced to clean his entire room from top to bottom and reorganize everything as a punishment for hiding a box of wrappers in his Lego box.

O/T office rant and immature co-workers.

I don't understand some of these young adults that graduate from college and have no idea how to act in a work setting. I recently shifted gears in my career and took a step down to move into a new field. I went from working in the retail store level to retail corporate. I work in a department that hire a lot of fresh out of college students. I sit by two that drive me crazy!

I just don't care anymore.

Per court order DH was suppose to get ss14 this past weekend as normal visitation (EOW rotation), plus receive next weekend for MLK weekend (outlines this holiday in the CO). Well BM decided that's not how she wanted to interpret the CO this year - it's been in place 8 years. She has decided MLK weekend will start the rotation.

OT - sick toddler, need advice.

DS20 months has had diarrhea episodes for a week now and I'm not sure what my next step should be.

Both DH and I had the stomach flu - no fevers. We are both better now. DS has had diarrhea diapers with a few regular ones mixed in. No fever or vomiting. At first he had loss his appetite, but now he is eating and drinking plenty of fluids. He is drinking whole milk and pedialyte.

He's been sent home twice from daycare. DH and I can't keep missing work. Tonight we bought the $25 tiny bottle of probiotics drops for toddlers to help with diarrhea, not sure if that will help.

I feel like BS is second class to MIL

I've had this feeling since giving birth to BS19months that MIL doesn't see him as equal like the other grandkids and ss14, all because I am the second wife. Everyone in the family dislikes BM and think she was a horrible wife (she cheated) and mother. However, when MIL calls she talks to DH only a few minutes about BS19m, and he's going through an age where he does something different everyday. But when the subject comes to Ss14, it can go on for hours of "poor ss14, blah blah".
