Moon, this ones for you! The tale of the hamster

My4kidsmom's picture

I have never allowed rodents in my house! I remember having gangsters as a kid and they stunk so I've always told the kids no. Well we find out SD has a little hamster and her dogs. We made her re-home the new puppy before we picked her up and she brought the German Shepard that we bought her 7 years ago. I find out enroute that she has a dwarf hamster in her car.

14 hour roadtrip to get SD19 yesterday

We started at 5am, got to her town at 10:45 and she said she was ready so we loaded up our car, her dog, ans hamster ans got ready for the turn around trip back. Well first she had to stop and say bye to a friend, run by her bank to deposit money, and hunt her old boss down for her final paycheck. Then it was lunchtime. We got back on the road by 1pm and finally he by around 7pm.

The SD Chronicles----The Prodigal's Return

Well, we are headed out on an early morning 11hr retrieval trip. It's going to be a looong day!
I've got my Starbucks and bacon Gouda sandwich though so it's all good.
All I know for sure at this point is that my house is about to get a LOT louder--she is so flipping loud. We have gotten used to the peace and quiet.
I will keep you posted on how it's going. I hope she's ready to change.

Kinda O/T feeling encouraged.

I have been a member on these boards for a couple years now and I've never posted this much!
Why is that encouraging you ask?
Well because even though I read every day, I rarely respond because I don't have the energy and/or can't get my thoughts in order.
Well I'm on week 3-4 of treatment for Lyme disease and I think I might be getting my brain back!
Whoo hoo

Where is everyone today??

Part of my morning is catching up on all the blogs while I drink my coffee but there is literally nothing to read this morning!! I'm having withdrawals! Lol
I was diagnosed with Lyme disease a few weeks ago and the treatment has made me very sick and aside from a few good days here and there, I have been in bed.
So take pity on me and post some good crap for me to read.
Cantkeep, moon, rags, ditzy?? Help!

Trying not to be a "Disney Mom" I need advice.

My BS22 lives with us along with my SS17. My BS is in community college and will graduate with his AA in about 8 weeks. He gets good grades and generally does the chores we assign him around the house although he does have to be told more than once at times.
Most of the time he just stays in his room and studies and generally keeps to himself. He is a loner and doesn't engage often. He will get a bad attitude and get mouthy and argumentative at times when asked to do things he doesn't want to do but will still do them.

Just wow! Someone who gets it!

I found this link today and the stepfamily counselor gets it on so many levels! He gets what the skids are dealing with as well as what the bio AND step parents are going through. I really hope there's more where this came from. It might even soften your hearts toward the skids, I know it did for me. Take the 15 minutes to watch and I'd love to discuss this more and get more insight.
