It's been a while and yes, I'm still around. BF and I had some very long, very serious talks this summer and things are amazing! However, with that said, I'm now being faced with a new challenge that I need your help with.

CONCORD, N.H. -- The father of a baby rescued from the rubble of a home destroyed by last week's tornado said he is grateful for his stepmother, who gave her life trying to save his son.

Brenda Stevens, 57, was killed when her Deerfield, N.H., home collapsed on Thursday when a tornado struck the town. She had her 2-month-old grandson, John Paul Stevens, with her when the house collapsed, but he was relatively safe in a void.

Thank you to everyone for your opinions and support! I emailed BF yesterday afternoon and laid out my feelings, thoughts and reservations regarding the situation. He responded and we did some back and forth via email most of the afternoon. What I have found out is:

BF's stepdad passed away this past Wednesday night down in AZ. I had never met him. Funeral services are being held next Wednesday in IA and BF is of course going. I thought he was going alone. So last night we are mapquesting it and figuring out what time he needs to leave. I made a comment about "driving all that way by yourself" and he says, "oh no, I'm taking X#2, her two kids and SS18". You could of knocked me down with a feather. I understand that he and X#2 were married 13 yrs and that she knew the stepdad for about 7 of those years. Why does she need to ride with BF though?
