Soooo over my DH

TJH100911's picture

So yesterday my spineless DH drives 20 mins to and from BM house. You would think the only thing that warrants this on a non-skid night would be an emergency. Well apparently SS8 not wanting to do his spelling words is an emergency. Did I mention our DD is 3 months old? She goes to bed at 7:30 so by the time he gets off work, you get the picture. Between catering to BM and catering to his mother he has about five total minutes for her. I can't even stand to look at him.

SD5 carried our 3 month old down a flight of steps

DH was home with all the kids while I was working. SD always wants to be around our baby, which I am glad about. But she treats her like she is a toy, which I am less than thrilled about. While DH was in the restroom, DD began to fuss in her cradle. SD went into our room, picked her up and carried her downstairs. Needless to say DH and I were not happy. Any advice on how to deter this behavior without killing her adoration for her sister?

When will skid resentment subside following birth of ours baby?

I should start by saying that I lucked out in the skid department. We all get on very well and they have really taken to DD. I had DD 6 days ago and we have had skids almost every day since. I'm at my wits end. I can't stand how my SD follows my husband around like a puppy dog and even stands outside the bathroom while he is in there. SS is much easier to handle. I know these feelings are me and I'm trying to keep telling myself that, but I am becoming increasingly annoyed by SD always being in my DD face and in DH face and in my face.

Don't you have a new fugly baby??

BM here is a real class act. Let me tell you. The latest:
DD was born 6 days ago. She is doing great and we are over the moon. Skids love her and all is well.

Now for some of the class which has escaped BMs mouth this week. I'll start with my personal favorite.
"Don't you have a new fucking fugly baby now? Take it to church and leave mine with me. Forever preferably."

Dh: am I getting kids after (sporting event) tonight?
BM: no. Before. Sorry to inconvenience you. I can find a sitter if you don't have time for them now."

My fun filled week - BM is a classy lady.

Wow has this been a fun week. Some minimal annoyances by BM finally paved the way to a royal spectacle yesterday.

Let me preface this by saying that BM lost the skids sports uniforms this week. How one does that I'm not sure. DH and I worked together and made skids uniforms that were close using iron ons and similarly colored shirts. They were so excited and grateful

Married filing separate or married filing joint

My accountant had recommended that we file jointly and in the case of any court issues he would prepare a married filing separate return to turn in with a letter stating that it represented DH income but was not filed as such due to harm to the Spouse. Has anyone done this and was it successful?

Update to my hospital stay ruining BM evening

TJH100911's picture

So following the text blowout over BMs dinner plans being ruined by my hospital stay, I was worried that we would end up with PAS'd skids yesterday. I'm positive BM told them about how Daddy didn't care about them because he had to take me to the hospital (see my past blog, I had the flu, 25 weeks pregnant, dr. Ordered me to go get fluids). My skids are 5 and 7, super mature and very smart. They came bounding in the door yesterday yelling for me and asking how I was feeling and how the baby was. I'm so lucky.
