I know that many of us routinely have terrible holidays, and believe me, I've had my fair share of them! However, this year was one of the nicest holidays I've had in years and years. Low-key, fun, and best of all it was stress-free.

A few weeks ago, my stepchild was away for the first time in a long time. In fact, SC hadn't been away in roughly 1.5 years.

In past years, when SC has finally gone on a trip or visited BM, I've been close to shouting from the rooftops with near delirious joy. But this time? I barely noticed SC's departure. I was completely neutral about it.
